The Mamie D. Lee Campus won the Innovative Project of the Year Award for New Construction during the 2018 A Midsummer Night’s Green and Community Leaders Awards, an event hosted by the USGBC National Capital Region. This community-oriented project involved the renovation and expansion of the existing Mamie D. Lee campus to house two separate public charter schools. The Bridges Public Charter School serves Pre-K through 5th grade, and Briya Public Charter School is the only local charter school that educates adults and their young children. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification.
