On Saturday, May 5th, DC officials cut the ribbon for the brand new Marvin Gaye Recreation Center. The late singer’s family and the Ward 7 community were there to celebrate the grand opening. This event marked the first-ever Marvin Gaye Day, which will be held every May 5th by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. The new recreation center features a fitness center, art gallery, lounge, and music room.
